“Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God…your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace….” - Ephesians 6:13-15

Life is a spiritual battle. Every believer has a common enemy, “Satan”. Satan works through demonic spirits, circumstances, people, or he’ll come himself, granting God gives him permission. God is always in control! He’s in control of every situation, circumstance, demon, and the devil himself. God controls them all!

In this text we see several spiritual truths: A. Human Responsibility - God’s wants you to participate in life. B. God’s Power is available for every believer. C. The Peace Of God is a necessary virtue in the battlefield of life! You can have whole lot of things: but if you’re not at peace with God, you want have the peace of God! Peace gives one contentment! Peace gives one security! Peace gives one REST on the battlefield of life! Peace is God giving tranquility independent of circumstances!

A Roman soldier had to have sandals with hobnails to give him standing, very much like a golfer's spikes. And because the devil would love to trip us up, we’re told, as we’re putting on our armor, to put on our shoes—and not just any shoes of peace. “feet shod(covered, dressed, these shoes are not for fashion, they’re for survival, for warfare, advancing the Gospel, or Christian Witnessing. They will not match your dress, your suit, or your pants, but they should match your heart) with the preparation(be ready to advance the Gospel) of the gospel of peace….”(The Gospel that brings peace to the human soul). Outside of God, there is no peace we can truly offer mankind. You see, your enemy, the devil, can defeat some people through error. They don't have the belt of truth. Others he can defeat through sin because they don't have the breastplate of righteousness. But some he'll get through discouragement; they’ll lose their peace. He’ll plant thorns, briars, holes, and stumbling blocks. And if we don't have on our shoes, our spiritual feet will be bruised and bleeding. Rather than leaping, we’ll be limping because we don't have peace. Your shoes are “the preparation of the gospel of peace,” peace with God. The peace of God dwelling in your heart enables you to fight Satan. Do you have this peace? By the way, The Apostle Paul was in prison when he penned these words to The Ephesians Saints! Wow.....it’s refreshing to teach what you live!
